What is the cost of extra Baggage on Saudi Airlines?

Whenever your Baggage exceeds the limit that has been given as per the Saudi Baggage allowance guidelines, you will be charged a cost for each extra Baggage. Typically, the cost of extra Baggage on Saudi Airlines is SAR 154 or $40 more or less, and when an oversized piece exceeds the allowed limit, then it would cost you nearly $69 or SAR 257.5. Note that the fees are subject to change depending on the season.  

What are the terms and conditions of Saudi Airlines Baggage Allowance?

Guidelines for Carry-on Baggage

  • Cabin Baggage must be within the limits defined for international routes, which may change for specific destinations.
  • First and Business-class travelers are allowed 12 kg of one handbag and 9 kg of one briefcase free of cost.
  • Guest Travelers are allowed to carry either a bag or briefcase, which must not exceed 7 kg of weight for free. 
  • Your carry-on Baggage weight and size may differ on various routes, so the rules may change accordingly.
  • The dimension of your carry-on Baggage is set to a maximum of 22x18x10 (inches) when traveling in first and business class, 18x08x14 (inches) for briefcases, and 22x18x10 inches when you are a guest traveler.
  • One free personal item is allowed to bring with carry-on Baggage like a tablet, laptop, purse, etc. 

Guidelines for checked Baggage.

  • The total linear dimension for your Baggage to be checked must not be more than 62 inches. 
  • Exceeding the dimensions of the defined size may lead you to pay oversized Baggage fees.
  • Your oversized Baggage must not be more than 81 inches; otherwise, it must not be allowed to board, and you have to send it via Cargo.
  • When it comes to weight, the Baggage weight has been limited to 23 kgs for standard travelers, and 32 kgs for first, business class, or elite members.
  • First, business and elite class travelers are allowed to be on a plane with two pieces of Baggage without paying the cost. 
  • Please note that Baggage will come into the overweight category if it weighs more than 32 kg to up to 45 kg. 
  • Pieces of baggage that exceed the overweight limit will not be accepted by the Saudi airlines, and they must be shipped by cargo. 

Saudi Airlines Baggage Fee guidelines

  • The fees for your baggage allowance will be subject to change according to the season of travel and the time frame you are making the payment, completely in addition to the channel that has been used for this. 
  • If the Baggage is found to exceed the limit given for size, weight, and number of pieces, it may be sent to the airport sales counter for collection of fees. 
  • Passengers who are flying on business or first class or are members of an elite club are allowed free Baggage. 

Guidelines for sports equipment.

  • When the dimension exceeds the given limit, which is from 62 inches to 80 inches, there will be a $100 fee.
  • When the dimension goes beyond 80 inches to a maximum of 118 inches, $67 fees will added, and the total of $167 must be paid.
  • In case your equipment breaches the maximum limit, then it will be sent via cargo.
  • for the flight on the Canadian route, there may be additional fees of $89 charged on exceeding the limit and the total fees will be $189.
  • For all domestic flights, the charges will be carried out similarly, and the fee would be in the range of SAR 100 to SAR 200.
