The Student Club membership increases your limit to 3 checked bags if traveling in standard Economy tickets, which usually includes 2 bags up to 23 kg/50 lbs each. The airline, when using weight-concept routes, allows students to get an extra 10 kg (22 lbs) added to their total limit. To say otherwise, if students’ base ticket gives them permission for 30 kgs, it means their new limit goes up to 40 kg.

What entails in carry-on baggage allowance

The Student Club does not allow students to increase carry-on limits and therefore subject to airline’s common rules. For example, if you are traveling in Economy Class, the baggage limits involve 1 piece up to 7 kg (15 lbs) with dimensions not more than the permissible 50 x 37 x 25 cm. For Business or First Class travelers, the limit involves 2 pieces up to 15 kg (33 lbs) in total. In addition, passengers can bring a small laptop bag, briefcase, or handbag for free apart from bringing a cabin bag for free.

Qatar Airways offers tiered discounts to passengers booking directly with the airline for their international flights. However, , rather than getting a flat discount rate, the passengers get unique promo codes, the value of which keeps increasing as long as the travelers keep flying more. For example, you get 10% off on what base fare the airline has put on its ad. In addition, on your second booking, you get 15% off the base fare, but this is applicable only when you complete the previous leg of your first flight. Similarly, on the booking of a third flight, travelers get 20% off the base fare. 

Please note that Qatar Airways makes these discounted offers only on base fare, it does not rule out full payment that you have to pay against airport taxes, and government surcharges. 

Free date change rule

Students who book their ticket directly through the airline’s official website or mobile app are entitled to free high-speed onboard Wi-Fi. Qatar rule for students related to account expiration

The Student Club membership program of Qatar Airways is not permanent for the member students. If you really want to continue with the membership, you are supposed to activate the same by re-verifying your university enrollment on a yearly basis. For this verification, you need to update your documents via SheerID. 

Also to be noted, the Student Club membership expires after years from the date of activation. Therefore, if you do not graduate or re-verify by the time it expires, your account is automatically downgraded to a standard Privilege Club frequent flyer account.
